On Mon., Dec. 4th, 2006, International Place and The Chiofaro Company hosted an exciting and timely event sponsored by The Boston Foundation-an evening with acclaimed author and
New York Times foreign affairs columnist Thomas Friedman. Mr. Friedman spoke about many of the topics in his revised book,
The World Is Flat, and how the concepts and issues of globalization relate to Boston. This event "packed the house" with almost 200 esteemed guests of The Boston Foundation and The Chiofaro Company. Guests enjoyed a lively cocktail reception followed by dinner, Thomas Friedman's keynote address, a spirited Q & A session, and a book signing with Mr. Friedman.

On the evening of Wednesday, March 29th, 2006, International Place and The Chiofaro Company sponsored a visit from acclaimed Pulitzer-prize-winning author and
Washington Post assistant managing editor Bob Woodward. At the well-attended event Mr. Woodward, one of contemporary America's most important and celebrated journalists, discussed concepts from his book,
Plan of Attack. The special guests of The Chiofaro Company enjoyed a gala pre-dinner reception, followed by dinner, Bob Woodward's keynote address, a thought-provoking Q & A session, and a book signing with Mr. Woodward.
