THEODORE A. OATIS

Theodore A. Oatis co-founded the Chiofaro Company, a real estate development and management firm, in 1980. Mr. Oatis oversees all aspects of the Company's development and construction projects. The development projects of The Chiofaro Company include International Place, a 1.8 million square foot office complex in Boston's financial district, Nashoba Corporate Center, a 460,000 square foot campus in Westford, Massachusetts, and Westborough Technology Park, a 74-acre office/research and development park in Westborough, Massachusetts.

Mr. Oatis is currently working on replacing a seven-story concrete garage on Boston Harbor with two towers comprised of office, condominium, hotel and retail space. The Chiofaro Company is in the midst of the permitting process and is also proposing a 502,000-square-foot office building with ground-floor retail space in Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood.

Mr. Oatis was active in the development of the Central Artery, serving on the Executive Committee and as Vice Chairman of A Better City. He is on the boards of the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps., Inc., and the Boston Municipal Research Bureau in addition to serving as an overseer of the Boston Architectural College.

Mr. Oatis began his real estate career in 1974 at Cabot, Cabot & Forbes, a national real estate company based in Boston. His experience includes industrial and office development in rural, suburban and downtown locations.

Mr. Oatis was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, currently resides in Charlestown, Massachusetts, and is the father of three children. He is a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Business School.
